Northland Mobile Ear Clinic is providing a service which is made up of two mobile vans covering Northland from Kaiwaka, up to Te Kao in the Far North.
Two Specialty Clinic Nurses provide Children/Tamariki and young people/taiohi from 6 months old up to the age of 18 years old the opportunity for a FREE ear health service in their community.
Services provided for children and young people up to the age of 18 include:
- Glue ear assessment
- Treatment of discharging ears
- Pre and post grommet checks
- Wax and foreign body removal
- Education
Referrals are received from and sent to:
- Audiology
- Special Education Services (GSE)
- Speech Therapy
- Ear Nose and Throat Specialists
- Paediatrics
- Public Health Nurses
- Plunket Nurses
- Iwi Health Providers
- General Practitioners
- Clients may also ‘self-refer’
